APPRECIATION FOR OUR SOLIDERS DURING THE HOLIDAYS

My brother giving me away at my wedding.

My brother giving me away at my wedding.

I know this is way off of topic, but it’s something I want to talk about.

It’s the holiday season, and usually around this time being with family is number one on my list of things to do. Lately, I have been reflecting on the fact that my family isn’t as closely connected as it once was.

My brother is in the army, and has been in Afghanistan since July, and I really miss him. I feel as with anyone else that he should have the right to be home with his family celebrating the holidays. It’s a sadness that overwhelms me when I think that he is stuck in some desert working 12 hours each and everyday. Living each day pondering what will happen next. I can’t imagine all of what he goes through from day to day. Yet when we speak through texting or email he is still the same person I know him to be.

We take for granted all of those soldiers (young and experienced) that enlist, because they believe they are doing the right thing for our country. They risk their lives, so that we can have the notion to still believe that our country will stand tall in the end.

I just wanted to take this time to dedicate this blog to my big brother who is doing his job without complaining. This also goes out to all of those soldiers all over the world who also have given their lives in dedication of our country.

YOU ARE APPRECIATED!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!!
