Grand Palladium – I Love This Resort!!

I don’t get the mixed reviews. In my opinion this is probably one of the only resorts that has something for everyone!!

There was a little confusion when we first checked in. They weren’t sure which side we were on even though I was pretty sure, but I kind of just followed their lead. Once we were good to go they gave us our building and room number, but we could not check in for another 2 hours because we arrived around 1 pm and our room wasn’t ready. In the meantime, I didn’t like the building we were initially in so I went back to the front desk and asked could they please move our room closer to the main area. I then explained that we honeymooned at this resort when it first opened in 2008 and we were in building 13. She was awesome. She told me to give her a few minutes and she would see what she could do. We were blessed and moved back to the building we were in for our honeymoon and upgraded from a Jr. Suite to a One Bedroom Suite at no additional cost. They are the best!!! We also got our red bracelets which means that we are repeat visitors.

The buffet was very good… No complaints. However, they do enforce the dress code at this resort. Even I was sent back to my room one night because you could see my bathing suit through my clothes. I wasn’t upset because I was taking a chance anyway. We ate at the Xamaica restaurant and the food was amazing!! We weren’t able to try any of the other a la carte restaurants, because the lines were long and I don’t like waiting. The food at the buffet was good enough for me.

Grand Palladium is full of its own nightlife which great. The all-white bonfire party was so much fun!! Before they lit the bonfire they had performers and fire dancers. After that was done we partied the night away right on the beach. The night club was also entertaining as well.

We did the snorkeling booze cruise that leaves right from the resort and we had a blast. We didn’t see much fish swimming around, nonetheless, we had a good time. We did arrive back to the resort quite tipsy in the middle of the day. Totally worth the cost and the experience.

They have a shuttle bus that takes you shopping and to Rick’s Café and I think we paid $15 per person and it is from 1 pm – 7 pm. Not too long and of course not too short! I highly recommend this if you would like to visit Negril. If you would like to include the beach I think it is about $10 more for all of the above. Staff is friendly and accommodating and the resort is in great condition. They have an adult only pool and beach area if you are trying to get away from the kiddies and just want some quiet time and there are enough pools sprawled throughout the resort. The main infinity pool never ever felt full.

We bought 2 Jamaica charms (that fits the Pandora bracelet) for $80. They are really good at compromising. Initially, he wanted to sell them for $50 each.

Also, there is free WiFi in the public areas only!!

As a travel specialist, this is my second time at this resort and it is still a winner in my book. I will definitely be visiting this resort in the future.
